2017 Celebration of Caring Gala: Over $372,000 Raised in Support of French Hospital Medical Center Foundation

Studio Design Group Architects was well represented at the 11th Annual Celebration of Caring Gala in support of the French Hospital Medical Center Foundation (FHMC). Brian Starr, Ellen Goodwin, and Aron Kahn attended the celebrated event, held August 19th at the Madonna Expo Center. With record-breaking attendance and a theme like ‘Haute Havana – An elegant escape to a Cuban hideaway’, you can imagine all enjoyed a good time while giving back.

This was Aron Kahn’s first year participating in the fundraiser, “It was a great experience getting dressed up for the best black tie event in San Luis Obispo and donating to a good cause. It made me happy to hear how well our healthcare design projects, like the French Hospital Healing Garden project, have been received along with the newly remodeled lobby, gift shop and cafeteria areas. The Specialty Unit we designed is operational and the new Stollmeyer Birthing Center will be open in September. As Alan Iftiniuk, President of FHMC, touted all the new amenities of FHMC I felt a great sense of achievement in seeing how much our community appreciates Studio Design Group Architects’ design knowledge and end product. It was an amazing feeling to see our healthcare projects recognized.”

This year Jackie Starr, Brian’s spouse, served as Co-Chair of the Celebration of Caring Gala along with Erin Steed of Meathead Movers. Jackie was happy to work with the all-volunteer Gala committee, FHMC Foundation staff, and her generous and artist friends. She shares, “It was a giant team effort!”

Accomplished watercolor artist Sandra Ronda, Tim’s wife, also shared a meaningful contribution to the cause by donating her time to paint a pet portrait for one lucky donor in the silent auction.

At Studio Design Group Architects, we’ve been committed to supporting our local community for thirty-six years. Contact our team to learn more about our local healthcare design projects.
