Zaha Hadid: A Monumental Change Maker

Dame Zaha Hadid (1950-2016) not only designed icons, she will forever be remembered as one. A pioneer of contemporary architecture, her vibrant perspective stands out in a sea of top-tier talent.

Hadid’s engaging projects are assertive, speaking volumes with dynamic shapes. The Iraqi-British architect studied in London at the Architectural Association School of Architecture – determined at an early age to transform our ideas of space, not only in a physical sense but both culturally and socially.

A 2004 Pritzker Prize laureate and winner of the Stirling Prize in 2010 and 2011, Hadid’s imaginative designs inspire architects around the globe, including our own team of architects right here in San Luis Obispo.
