As a little girl my all-time favorite toys were Legos. I never understood why my friends didn’t share my excitement for building, and we’d end up playing with Barbie dolls instead. I recently read What Architects Make When They Play With Lego and I couldn’t agree more with HWKN’s founder saying, “Legos didn’t make me love architecture, but they gave my love of architecture a place to develop.”
The designs I could create with Legos were only limited by my imagination. I’m amazed and delighted to see how architects are still using Legos for inspiration and play today. I’ll think of this the next time I’m laying on the living room floor with my kids— it’s not just goofing off, it’s professional development!”
Enjoy,
Ellen
