We are thrilled to announce that the first phase of the Oppenheimer Family Center for Emergency Medicine, at Dignity Health French Hospital Medical Center, is complete. The public is invited to visit San Luis Obispo’s new state of the art emergency wing during a grand opening celebration on January 25, 2020, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. The center is located at 1911 Johnson Avenue.
With this project, our healthcare architecture team continues to help our client French Hospital pursue its mission to “go beyond what you expect from a community hospital and create a world-class center of well-being that’s prepared for the future.”
Our project architect Ellen Goodwin worked with the healthcare leaders to design a facility that meets growing local needs while providing comfort, efficiency, privacy and comprehensive healing. The new space includes specialized rooms for critical care, geriatric patients, trauma, infectious disease isolation, pediatrics, and orthopedic emergencies, as well as fast-track beds for patients with less urgent conditions. The interiors introduce a pleasant, modern feel that Ellen calls “more hospitality than hospital.”
Dignity Health shares details about the expansion, the celebration, and the organization’s Beyond Health initiative.
