Time for a construction update on an essential local healthcare design project here in San Luis Obispo. Project Architect Ellen Goodwin is sharing a behind-the-scenes look at Phase I of the French Hospital Medical Center Emergency Department expansion, which will be completed by summer 2019.
In this photo, Phase I is well underway. Footings and foundations are poured, structural columns set, and the crew is installing slab rebar. Next up, walls are going up.
This major expansion project will be completed in two phases and adds 8,600 square feet to the hospital to house the most advanced emergency services center in San Luis Obispo County. The new facility is designed for a high volume of emergency patients with a strong commitment to comfort, efficiency, and privacy.
