A vital component of the French Hospital Medical Center campus, the Copeland Health Education Pavilion was designed to encourage and support collaboration, communication, and education. The facility provides a first-class setting for comprehensive health education and the advancement of health care prevention research on the local and national levels.
Completed in 2015, the building includes classrooms, conference rooms, a 25-seat executive boardroom, and a 120-seat auditorium. Two acute care hospital simulation labs with separate instructor observation areas and recording capabilities accommodate high-level training for nurses, physicians and other health care professionals. All meeting spaces allow for state-of-the-art video conferencing between the education pavilion and remote locations.
To encourage and support the exchange of ideas, the “Innovation Incubator” suite includes one of the building’s five electronic “Smart Boards” and wall-to-wall marker boards.
Natural light, a connection to the adjacent open-space preserve, and views of the distant landscape are provided by floor-to-ceiling windows. Additional meeting spaces are found on the second level terrace, which offers tables, seating and decorative planters around a central water fountain.
